New Work

On the artglasspics yahoo group, a challenge was issued to create a glass piece based on a picture of flowers. I chose the lilacs in my front yard, which were gorgeous this year and smelled so good. They've faded now but I have some pictures of them!

The piece is 5.25 x 3.125 inches. I plan on slumping it on my wavy mold. I'm not impressed with what I came up with. I added the dark purple shards and the yellow stringer to the leaves because I thought it looked plain. Now it just looks goofy.

Let me know what you think. Any suggestions of making it look better other than starting all over?

Thanks so much for the box full of ribbon!!! I haven't even had time to empty is as I have been on the run...I looked a bit while in my car, but for once the red lights didn't last long enough and I didn't want a cause an accident by looking in motion. Wou;d've been hard to explain the the policemen. "Sorry, but I just got delivered all this ribbon and I couldn't WAIT to see it!" LOL!!! Glad to hear the purging is still going well. I too, am digging in and cleaning up the studio.
Happy belated b-day and your lilac piece is sooo cool! Thanks for sharing your blog address!
