Big Girl Torch!

I have made the leap to a big girl torch!! OK, the Hot Head is a great torch and has served me well on my bead journey. But I needed more power. Argh Argh Argh. That's a Tim Taylor laugh there!

I wanted faster and faster and faster. Hotter. And I got it!

I got a Carlisle Mini CC torch from the Lampwork Etc. garage sale. Used because someone else owned it. They never used it! It was still wrapped in plastic when it came home to me. It came with hoses and an attached marver.

I made a special trip to the PO to get it because it had been delivered earlier when I wasn't home and they didn't leave it. I got it home...and attached it right up. Using the propane tank I used with my Hot Head and the oxygen concentrator I got from Craig's List, I was off and rolling making 2 small beads in a heart beat.

Then the fambly wanted to eat. They are so demanding!

I haven't been able to use it as much as I like because it's so darn cold! Too cold to work in the garage with the door open for ventilation. I can close it partway...but the cold air manages to get into the garage.

Here are some pictures. The one is just a general Christmas bead picture. The other two are beads made with the Carlisle. I think I'll just call him Carl!

Here are some pendants I fused. I made a big slab of glass, fused it, cut it apart with my ring saw, used the grinder, fire polished, then used the channel bit on the grinder. I wrapped them with sterling silver wire.
